Why we collect personal information

We collect certain personal information from you, necessary to assist us in providing our products and services. Your information includes name, address, email address, telephone numbers and credit card details. This information is required for us to send your orders to you, invoice you and collect payments. We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is kept confidential, secure and protected from unauthorised access or use.

How we collect personal information

We collect personal information nominated by you, for example when you request a product or service online, by phone, or in person.

Company Service Providers

We may transfer personal information for the primary purposes of carrying out business services and transactions confidentially to our external service providers. These may include but is not limited to processing applications or orders, shipping or repair of goods, debt collection, our bank, and merchant or financial agencies to process your account payments. Wherever possible we try to get those services provided without those third parties being provided with any of your personal information. If that is not possible, we require that any third party is provided with only the minimum necessary information and it is provided under terms of strict confidentiality on condition that the third party only uses it to provide services to you.
Marketing Lists

We do not disclose your personal information to third party business partners unless it concerns them and their payment. Use personal information for marketing purposes. We do not use your private information for the purpose of direct marketing, unless you have specifically requested further information on our products and services. We will remove your name from such direct marketing lists if you ask us to do so. We do not supply your personal information to any other marketers.

Quality of information collected

It is your responsibility to ensure that your personal information is up to date by notifying us of any changes to the details we hold about you. However we will take all reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. We do require you to verify certain personal information for any account enquiry. We will also ask you to check your details in our company communications such as purchase orders, delivery advices and invoices.
Security of Information Collected

Mobile Planet strives to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personally identifiable information of our customers. We use a variety of physical and electronic security measures including hosting our website server in a secure office and firewalls and secure databases to keep personal information secure from misuse, loss or unauthorised use or disclosure.
Credit Card Information is transferred over a secure 128-bit SSL connection.
Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure.

Access to personal information

In accordance with the Privacy Act, you can access personal information about you held by us, and advise if you believe it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. You can request access to the personal information we hold by writing to the:

Complaint

If you consider your privacy has been breached, please contact our Privacy Officer at the above address. If you consider that we have not resolved the issue you may refer the matter to the Privacy Commission Office.
